Arnes

It preserves the fortified medieval old town with palace houses, arches and portals

Arnes

One of the characteristics of the town of Arnes is that in it we can find two very different orographies, the mountain and the plain. The coexistence of both environments provides the municipality with a different look and a myriad of possibilities when it comes to nature. The historic center, built around the old medieval castle, has been declared of historical and artistic interest. Arnes has unique natural places such as ponds, is bathed by two rivers the Straits and Algars and also part of its territory is part of the Parc Natural dels Ports.

Walking through the town

In Arnes you can walk through many buildings with Gothic elements, manor houses, arches and access doors that make the town a center of historical and artistic heritage. It also retains the structure of a medieval core and a vintage snow pit. You can also visit the honey interpretation center, the quintessential local product. The town hall is the center and nucleus of the municipality, which is one of the first Renaissance buildings in Catalonia of architectural interest, and the Baroque-style church of Santa Magdalena, built on the ruins of an old Gothic church.
