Prat de Comte

Ideal place to rest and enjoy nature with great possibilities for hiking

Prat de Comte

Prat de Comte is located northeast of the ports of Tortosa-Beseit. The term, by its geographic situation, is very injured; the highest elevations are the hill of Engrilló and the Mola Grossa. Here we find the Engrilló yew, an ancient tree more than 13 meters high with great ecological and historical value. The municipality, basically agricultural, has recovered in recent years the production of brandy that has always been closely linked to the Catalan peasantry.

Walking through the town

Among the most important buildings in Prat de Comte is the Parish Church of Sant Bartomeu, built in the seventeenth century located in the church square. In the same square is the cross of the Templars. It is interesting to see the Portal, the old gateway to the village to reach the main street and the church. The municipality also has an old bread oven and a distillery.
