Ports Natural Park

In the natural park of the ports, the vegetation is thick and splendid, with fauna and nature in the wild. It is a landscape cut by the action of water and wind, as it has a calcareous structure. It rains more than in other areas of the region and the temperature is also cooler. There are black pine, holm oaks and large trees, some with their own name and listed as monumental trees (such as Lo Parot, in Horta; the Pimpoll, near the Puig de Miralles; the Ramut pine, in Arnes, or the yew d’Engrilló, in Prat de Comte). The rugged terrain allows you to practice all kinds of adventure sports, including climbing, both on the rocks of Benet and the moles del Don or on the right rock of the Valls or the Straits.

Other alternatives are the descent of ravines and jumps, such as Sotorres or Ferrassó, or the possibility of bathing in crystal clear waters and contemplating herds of Hispanic goats or grazing oxen.

Horta de Sant Joan, Arnes and Prat de Comte are the municipalities that occupy the largest area in the park. In the municipality of Prat de Comte and you will find the Visitor Center of the Natural Park in the Terra Alta with detailed information on all the possibilities of visiting the most emblematic places of this mountainous massif.
